Alablanca Apparel Rebrand

An Apparel Rebrand Inspired by Humanity on the Border

Alablanca Apparel, a clothing brand inspired by the bi-cultural lifestyle on the Southern border, needed a brand refresh to stand out in the competitive Rio Grande Valley market and establish a presence on e-commerce platforms. The existing brand was getting lost among other retailers, and the client wanted a redesign that captured the essence of life in the Rio Grande Valley—a region defined by its border cities and vibrant culture.

Deliverables

A comprehensive rebrand kit, including a new brand mark, logo lockups, an updated color palette, web and social graphics for new e-commerce site.

Design & Creative Approach

Research & Inspiration: The name “Alablanca” translates to “white-winged bird,” symbolizing hope, peace, and new beginnings. Drawing from this, I crafted a brand identity that embodied these themes.

Color Story: Chose a white and teal palette, colors deeply rooted in Mexican culture and prevalent in art, jewelry, and traditions.

Brand Mark: Designed a logo inspired by Mayan symbols and artwork, featuring a hand-drawn white bird to reflect the brand’s name and meaning.

The Outcome

The client was thrilled with the redesign, feeling it authentically captured the spirit of the Rio Grande Valley. The refreshed brand was successfully launched alongside new e-commerce platforms, helping Alablanca Apparel stand out and connect with its audience.
